In Recognition of Excellence

For more than two decades, the Institute for Postmodern Development of China has honored and supported visionary leadership for ecological civilization. Since the establishment of the John Cobb Common Good Award in 2004, our awards program has recognized global pioneers and nurtured emerging scholars committed to advancing the common good and ecological transformation.

John Cobb Common Good Award

Established in 2004, the John Cobb Common Good Award is our highest honor, recognizing distinguished leaders from around the world whose work embodies ecological wisdom, ethical responsibility, and commitment to the flourishing of the Earth community. Recipients include scholars, activists, economists, farmers, educators, and cultural leaders whose sustained contributions demonstrate that ecological civilization is not only an ideal, but an unfolding reality.

Process Summer Academy Excellence Award

The Summer Academy Excellence Award recognizes outstanding students in our annual Process Philosophy Summer Academy, honoring academic excellence, intellectual rigor, and creative engagement with process thought.

Cobb Young Scholar Award

The Cobb Young Scholar Award supports emerging scholars devoted to process philosophy and ecological thought. By providing financial assistance for participation in International Whitehead Conferences, the award enables young researchers to engage in global dialogue, deepen their scholarship, and contribute to the evolving tradition of process philosophy.
